Wanted 88 or 109

New to Land Rovers and on a steep learning curve. Looking for a Series 2 88 or 109. Driving vehicle, not a project. "Patina" preferred as long as vehicle is solid and have good mechanicals.

I live in Sandy Hook CT.

Thanks,
Johan

I was just talking to Josh (crash303) the other day about how I will never sell my 88, it's such a cool truck. Never mind doing 55 on the freeway feels like it will explode at any second, it's constantly marking its territory no matter where I go, and it will sit forlorn for months without getting started as the LR3 and D90 get more attention.

The fascination never wears off. Good luck with your search!

Still looking. Budget $20k. Rust free and good mechanicals, don't mind "patina" on paint and interior. Also open to Defender 110 Truck.

Thank you,
Johan

If you'd reconsider on the RHD, I have a pretty cool '66 Series IIA possibly up for grabs.

Johan

I have an interesting NAS LHD '70 late II-a 88 w/ 33k miles. It is a NC truck with zero rust- as it has been stored for quite some time. Why? Because the PO threw a rod through the block. He then decided to fully restore the truck- walnut shell blasting, powder coat the frame, bulkhead, axle housings, seatbox, breakfast, etc. The tranny/T-case aren't even dirty, and the hubs, brakes, diffs, axles look new!!

I acquired the 'basket case' and have started assembly- a roller at this point, ready for motor- which I plan to fit a 2.5 NAD, or even have a 2.25 petrol from a 109 that needs rebuilt. Point being, if your budget could be stretched a bit, and the finishes reserved for a later date (like paint and such- it has orig and new seats...), you could have a very good driver/investment- I need the shop space, so potentially a win/win.

Let me know if this of interest, no worries either way- just an option...

ID:	96307Search is over. Found this 88 in VT. Currently with Lanny Clark checking up on mechanicals and installing a Roamer Drive. Have some cosmetic goodies on order from Rovers North.

Thanks for all response. Will update as I get truck back and on the road.
