Smile want to buy Range rover supercharged

I am losing my company car and have to buy a car for work so I have decided on a Range Rover possibly supercharged...( i cant drive my d90 to work everyday) i am looking at 2006 and 2007 as they are in my price range. I have always recieved valuable information from The D-90 source for my Defender and I was wondering if any of you know Range rovers as well?

I will be driving about 3,500 miles per month and would like a reliable car. I have always wanted a Rangie and was wondering if you guys could steer me in the right direction?
2006 or 2007....I have heard their are some major differences.

Maybe someone someone has a nice one or sale?

Thank you,
Rod

3500 miles a month. Buy a lotus. A range rover will cost a small fortune in depreciation, maintaince and gas running it 42,000 miles a year.

I would get a TDI Jetta. If you will keep it and drive it for a few years, get an 07.

I would go with the 2007 RR, the 2006 was the start of the new Jaguar engine. 42,000 per year is a lot of miles, so you might as well spend it behind the wheel of Range Rover.

2003 - 2005 was the 4.4 BMW motor. 2006+ is the Jag engine.

In 2007 they redesigned the interior. Get the 2007.

Are their any differences in upkeep or reliability( cost to maintain)?
I looked at 07 and 06 this weekend. I like the interior on 07 but 06 is less $.

06 is definitely less expensive. I would call LR dealerships and independent shops and ask the 06 vs. 07 reliability question. I would guess that they would say not much difference.

It's funny that you say that, because I thought the same thing, so I called the two shops that I trust here in Houston. One shop said no question, the 07 has much better build quality and hardly any consistent problems where as the the 06 on average will drive me nuts and will be in the shop alot. The other shop said both years will be in the shop a considerable amount.

I have not tried calling the dealerships because I have not felt very confident when I've asked them about defender questions. I may call them tmrw and ask.

HAHA. You gotta love the honesty.

I feel that one of those years, they had major transmission problems and that's when LR took a hit on that line
