I would be really interested in what folks have done by way of repairs. i imagine mine are like those of many people; verticle section is in excellent condition. Horizontal piece and the angled rear piece are completely toast and unusable. How much of the lower part can be fabricated and at what cost?

John, I began repairing mine in place and realized that really isn't advisable. It did seem like a rather easy repair if you are good with a welder and remove them first. I don't recall if you told me you weld or not, but if you do, I would give it a shot as long as you can take your time and have something else to rely on for daily transportation.

That being said, I replaced mine, which really weren't all that bad, because they were inexpensive and George had them in-stock at the time.

John Craddocks has them listed on their site. the ones listed are the newer ones. The only difference is the holes for the door strikers and new holes are easily drilled. Try Craddocks- they ship to the US quite reasonably.
