Stud on front of waterpump

So,

I have my old alternator off, and I was installing the brackets for a Delco 12SI. The problem is that I have only screws on the front of my waterpump, and I need a stud-type one to mount the bracket. I cannot just use a longer screw (I tried that), it will leak coolant everywhere. I am still trying to find a place that sells a 5/16-24 stud, or threaded rod.

If anybody decently local to Coventry RI, has one, please let me know so I can finish this stupid project.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have an ace hardware where you live? They have a decent selection.

Also try NAPA or the help section at the auto parts stores as they carry diffrent size studs

I took a bolt I had and cut the head off. Then I used a die to cut new 5/16-24 threads in it. Now I only need to swing by ACE or HD to get some nuts and I might be able to finish this project.
