ARB compressor & swithces

ok now that I have decided not to mount gun ports...still looking for a dash pod; in case you need one, I think I still have some sort of WWII military tank 90 deg mirror something or other lying around...

where did you guys mount your ARB compressors and switches? I plan on using the dash pod with carling inserts; passenger seat base for CKSA12 compressor, I use CO2 to air-up...

pod

Barry,
Thank you! I don't know why either - I think it boils down to being a control freak. Only 1 of those gauges is really worth a crap and that is the extra fuel tank guage which lets me know when to turn off the pusher pump to the main tank. The 4 gauge pod was bought from a Company in Germany that sells them on ebay.de. They make a 3 and a 4 gauge pod where as the wires go through the ashtray hole. I got lucky that the legth of the 4 pod was the same as the Iron Goat dash. It does get a bit hot inside the dash addition so I think somewhere down the road is to vent it better.

I will say your AC controls are the best part. Which aux tank are you running? You running a horsey special?

tank

It is the Euro/UK tank that mounts under the passengers seat box. It was the easiest to go with as the the mounts on the frame are already there. I went with a filler neck that you have to lift up the passengers seat to fill it. If I had to do it again, I would the filler on the outside but tucked in the wheel well. I had a shop plumb in the tank vent and fuel feeder hose to the main tank filler neck. I hit a swith and a small external pump will push fuel to the main tank filler neck. If you put the filler in the cab you have to go with a non-vented gas cap so you keep the fumes out of the truck. Lucky 8 sold me the protective skid plate for the tank so I don't have to worry about things coming up through the tank. Range now is about 350 for 2 tanks up from about 190 for the rear. If I am lucky I will get 13mpg to a gallon but mostly it is 12mpg I think due to the locker in the rear and the limited slip up front. I was getting around 14-15 prior to the changes in the drivetrain. I am thinking about putting a front end and a big wing from a 74 Road Runner Super B to pick up some aerodynamics.

Sounds like you have it all figured out. I would personally go with the wing from a Geo Metro.

pod

Paul,
I am 6'2 and my 4 gauge pod doesn't obstruct my view at all. If you want to take a box with similar demensions and put it on the dash in the same place the pod would go, you may get a sense of how much or how little it hinders your view.

Have you ever seen this stuff? Several different styles available but this one wouldn't block the windshield.

Any other 90's in Gulf Breeze?

These are up on eBay UK all the time - here's an example, but probably not quite what you're looking for:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Landrover-90-r...item1e635fe4aa

Just watch for a couple weeks and you'll see some come up.. new, with the button cutouts..
