Stainless D90 Fuel Tank Skid Plate

Aparently things have changed over the last few years since a bunch of posts were created suggesting both EE & SlickRock Fabrication Stainless D90 Fuel Tank Skid Plate were available. I have spoken with Dave Lucas over at SlickRock, and everyone is out of stock of them with no ETA known of when more will be available. I see over at Rovers North they have a Galvanized Fuel Tank Cradle.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the best aftermarket solution for a replacement?

Thanks in advance.

I have replaced mine with the Galvanized Rover's North Skid Plate. I am happy with it......Not quite as good as stainless I guess - but the price was good and I should get a hell of a lot of years out of it........

Flagg.

Did yours come with the holes for the rear sway Bars?

I am suprised, doesn't seem like there is any solution other than theirs for a replacement today.

Thanks again

ECR has a 2.5 year waiting list for D90 repairs if I go on the waiting list next week. I spoke with them last week while I was ordering some led lights....

No question Equipe is definetly the blinger choice, I was looking for something a bit more stealth mode.

Keep the ideas coming though!

You mean ECR won't sell you just the skid plate? They need to install it?

Does the RN plate offer any better protection than stock apps? I wouldn't think so, but I may be wrong.

No, that isn't true.
We will sell the skid plates mail order, but we make them in batch lots and don't have any right now. So if you need something TODAY, then no, we can't help you, but if you don't mind a little wait while we work in the mail order with our normal work load then we can get you the stuff.

That's what I thought.

By the way Mike, I mean, Fidel, I installed my LED tail lights this weekend. They look great. Thanks!

Cool!

Its amazing how much brighter they are too. I was following one of our trucks the other day and it was amazing to see the LED brake lights at night. SO much better.

Can you use the same LEDs on the front signals?

Not with that flasher unit (the only one I could find that was a direct plug in the D90 slot).
You'd need to find another flasher or run "loads" on the circuit to get the flash rate the same.

Also curious about this. Bummer about the stainless options (don't like the equipe one), but galvanized is pretty damn good.

Too much bling? I believe the Equipe Skid plate is listed at less than $170.

Paint it black for $5 worth of sand paper and flat black spray paint.
In fact, I wish I could do that to my entire truck, I think the kids call that "murdered out".

I have heard from other non-rover (read: Jeep) people that the Tridon Stant Flasher EP26 is a 4-pin flasher works...

Found the southdown plate: http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/ABPXFT01.cfm

Don't know if they're in stock though. And it's a bit pricey.

Thanks everyone,

I have bought a RN Galvinized. If it doesn't do the job it'll be up here cheap.

My reasons:

First they make replacement chassis out of galvinized not aluminium for probably some pretty good reasons.

They are all about the same price +/-$100 and when your working on the baby, whats an extra 4 or 5 boxes of wine.

By the way plz excuse the spelling... need a few beers after swapping out every $%&* bolt on my rear tailgate today.
