Series II or IIA 109"

Just sold my project and Im looking to replace it with a LHD 1O9 3 door. Prefer a truck cab (im kicking myself for not keeping mine but it helped the sale) If anyone knows of one in New England with a solid frame Im looking to buy one asap. Solid frames and bulkheads only please. This will be a work truck so I dont care what it looks like as long as it runs and will pass Maine inspection.

No not actually mine. A friend of mine took that pick in Africa. He came across a fleet of Defenders that were circumnavigating the continent helping to prevent Malaria. Search 110 wheelie in the misc forum and you will see more of the fleet.

If you register it as antique, it will not require a Maine Inspaection :O)

I have an 83 110 RHD NA Diesel (fresh) with a truck cab and 2 yr old frame coming in three weeks. Im located about an hour and a half from your neck of the woods

He is correct. I have a 65 Series IIA currently registered as an antique and an inspection is not required. There are some restrictions but basically you just need to sign the affidavit in the link below and you're all set.

Thanks Gary. I got pulled over in my wifes LWB for not having an inspection sticker. I didnt know you needed one and the cop said all vehicles need to be inspected every year. After all the work i had to do to her car to get it to pass I thought for sure there was no way my 109 would pass with holes in the frame and bulkhead. Live and learn!

110 pup

I am looking to get $12,500 or I may keep it and letter it up & use it to deliver kegs :O)
It will come with a Maine Title, epa & Dot paperwork. She needs drivers floorboard work but that is about it! and the heat does work Duncan drove it four hours to get it to the dock. It is really turnkey and I will have a low milage 300TDI for sale as well.

Cheers

I am not sure if this will help at all, but I saw a 109" off of Route 1, somewhere south of Camden, Maine, while on our trip back to our home in Vermont. It was an off-white, 2 door 109, LHD, Series III I believe, with a canvas cover over the bed. Probably a shot in the dark, but I thought I would pass it along. It was at a used car dealership and they were asking $10,000 for it. The frame looked relatively solid.

Hey Greg. I saw that one at the beginning of the summer. I drove back and looked at it and IMO its not a 10k truck. Thanks for the heads up. That was the kind I was looking for. I went in a different direction and ended up getting a 1946 Chevy pickup.

Funny you should say that. Thats the frst thing coming off and those stupid fog lights. Next it will be painted either dark green or dark blue with black fenders the way the 46' are supposed to look and a chrome grill.

Thank Greg I cant wait to get it in some snow or mud!

Thanks Steve Im excited about it. My wife is going to kill me when the transport truck shows up but it should be worth it I agree a Cummins would be sweet. Its got a fuel injected 327 corvette engine and military axles. It was built for mud races.
