I know this is a long shot but I need one bad... I have a v-8 one to trade or sell in return. I just need the tdi version. If anyone has any Ideas, let me know. SG is basically not doing anything as of right now...

Randy, if you sell your cross-member, I may be interested. The 3link I have access too, has a Disco cross-member.

Just get someone to build one. It is not that complicated.

These 3 links sure don't seem to be worth the trouble.

I really love the 3-link on my truck. The ability to adjust you pinion angle and tune it in is great for lifted trucks.

I understand the concept and execution of the 3 link, I just fail to see the advantages in the real world. Aside from them collapsing on more than 1 occasion and the inability to get parts rendering ones truck useless, I have never backed away from an obstacle saying, "If only I had a 3 link." On the contrary, I have witnessed 3 links actually make some obstacles harder due the seat of the pants feel of instability and had 3 linked equipped trucks back away from obstacles that I have cleared. Cool idea yes, but just seem to be more trouble than they are worth in the real world IMO.

Understood..... I love it on my truck and it handles great on and off road. It flexes like a mother too. To each his own. Collapsing??? That I never heard of. I know about 5 people that run the system and love it. SG was a big PITA. once you got all the parts you ordered you were good to go. lol..

I believe that the only collapsing was on the early versions, where you welded a tab on your existing crossmember.

Only the prototype ever collapsed. Internet rumor then spread that 3 links collapse. They don't.
The prototype was then altered and is 100%.
The 3 link was the second best mod on my 90 (second only to the Tdi).

We can make you a Tdi crossmember if you like, no problem.
Email me. It won't be quick, but no problem to do.

We are the ones that made the first Tdi x-member anyway in ECR4. I gave all the dimensions to Greg so that he could sell them.

OK, didn't hear about that one.
So a couple issues with a custom suspension.
Dennis, like the rest of us, certainly isn't easy on his toys so it isn't like the failure happened on a purely street truck. Hope his girl was OK.

I bet if you take a look at some custom Jeep set ups they may have some problems as well during development and also had failures on the road/trail.

I put over 50K miles on mine with zero issues, even had the stock bushing in it when I sold it. I drove it on trails, as my daily driver everyday and even back and forth to Moab (no trailer). The truck is still going strong and has been driven cross country multiple times by the new owner.

I've heard a lot more failure stories about drilled and custom radius arms than 3 links.

I've had a number of 4.6 blocks that were bad out fo the box. Doesn't mean I'll never install another 4.6 or that I think 4.6s are junk.

Not doubting it had some teething issues (and is certainly a funky design), I just don't see the need to toss the baby out with the bathwater.

Its a personal choice for sure, run what ya like, but I'll never give up my front axle travel.

When I die in a firey ball of diesel when my 3 link fails on the intestate you can put "Told ya so!" on my grave.

Put me on the organ donor card. I will rebuild it for the shrine.

Enough talk with you and accidents. Aren't you recovering from a collar bone break currently? How is that going?

Cleared by the Doc to again be an idiot as of a week or so ago. They are debating if they are going to take the metal plate out in the future or not.

Still doing PT and using that as an excuse to get in better shape. Feels pretty good, but still trying to get back my strength on that side. Thanks for asking.
