The older V8 x member can be used for the Tdi (the straight version for the '87-'88 Range Rover) with the stock center link. Last I knew SG had a bunch of them.
Personally I like to incorporate the three link and the Tdi transmission x member (located further to the back of vehicle) which allows for a longer center link which makes for better suspension geometry with longer travel suspension (14-16" shocks)
I've had to rebuild half of every SG three link I've installed (x-members in particular) which is quite a few.
