RRC Thingamabob

Not sure what you call this but its the little ball on the upper tailgate that the gas strut connects to. Mine broke off and can't seem to find a replacement. Anyone have a rusty upper tailgate they could pull one off of? need driver side if it makes a difference.

Sorry for the bad pic.

They are drivers side/pass side but I think with some crude fabrication skills you could make one.
It's just a strut stud on a piece of bent steel.

If Kevin can't help, I have several liftgates in my shop. I'm sure I can find one that can break for pieces.

That looks like the pass side. I think the part is reversible and just "flipps" over to make up the other side, but I'm not sure.

I have a few of them on rusted out bottom rail upper gates. Let me know what side you need and PM me your mailing address and I will throw one in the post for you. You can pop rivet it on if there is enough metal left in the frame.

If you're in Yarmouth…. swing by & I'll drill out the rivet… at least it looks like a rivet.

John, the drill bit walked a little when I pulled it. Should still work fine.

Strange… both of my gates have a different style.
Crappy photo… had to shade it for the backlight.
