R380

I need an R380 quick!

Mine blew out in the Lincoln Tunnel last night and I was laughing my ass off. Perfect timing! 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th were all shot. I could hear gear chunks and bearings splashing and grinding away in there. 4th gear was my only semi-working gear since its straight. I will tell you that only having 4th gear in stop and go traffic blows big time. I learned my lesson fast and switched to Low-range and used 4th as my gear 1st-2nd gear. it was honestly very funny. I made it home. Now someone give me a R380!!

Ha ha, I was in the Lincoln Tunnel yesterday in the d-90 and though how much it would suck to have a problem in there. Good move on getting it home, sorry, I don't have a v8 trans laying around, but Rob D can probably fedex you one.

diesel conversion would be the most ideal! but for time sake i just need it back up and moving again. I thought about automatic, but i love driving stick. sucks in the city, but great off road. I sourced two R380s so we will see. might swap it this weekend and send the old broken one to Rob D and keep it as a spare.

Jim you should have called me.

the tranny was on its way out too since my trip to Utah this past summer. I know what caused it too. shifting from 5th to 4th while running stock gears on 35 inch tires on the highway. if you are running your truck this way you will burn out your tranny soon.
