Power steering for 2.5NA

I'm looking to add power steering. I've heard that some parts off a disco or RRC will work. I'm assuming that the pump (maybe) and whatever brackets needed might be particular to a 2.5NA instead of a V8, but I don't know. Doesn't anyone have any of this stuff, or at least know what I need to be looking for?

It's LHD by the way.

The steering box from a disco will work with the correct drop arm. Everything else is as per a 200tdi defender.

Cool. I'll give them a call. It looks like they are going to the Arkansas Rover spring rally, so maybe if its cheap enough I can get them to bring it, to save on shipping.

I may be able to help...

Have all the parts that bolt to the engine, so if you need them send me a PM.
You can get a PS Steering box out of any 90, 110, RR Classic or Disco I.

Hope this helps.

So I called them just now. They do have one kit left, minus the belt, but it's all new or reconditioned, which makes it a little out of my price range an the moment.

WOW! I would have guessed $600ish for the kit. Either I'm way off or they are.

Maybe he said $1300, my brain kind of automatically stopped listening when I realized it was more than I was going to pay today. I guess by summer I'll have nice strong arms.

As you make turns keep chanting "Feel the burn"! At $4 a gallon for diesel, it's cheaper than a gym membership.

This is a very easy swap. As mentioned disco box, used 2.5 NA pump then get used RHD hoses and have them modified for LHD use. You can also get new LHD hoses but I bet they will be a pita to source.

2.5 petrol, 2.5 td, and 200 Tdi all the same set up.

Lots of this stuff out there. I you have no luck sourcing we will be happy to set you up.......for a LOT less than $1500

PM me your price for a turn key kit. I have a 2.5na and that I'd love to update with power steering.

Still Available

$400 for the piece that mounts on the block, pump, hoses, and reservoir, with a LHD used steering box.
Worked OK, but I would put new seals in the box before using it.

Am slowly getting rid of more than a dozen vehicles and a barn full of stuff waist high.
It took me a few hours to dig this stuff out so if no one wants it... on to eBay.

Sold a 1964 LHD 109 5 door with 18,000 original miles last month.

That blue 109 Rick Newman had came from us as well as the 2 other 109s Mine VanCuren acquired.

We have a 1961 IIA with 11,000 miles with a fire pump... just too much stuff and too little time.
