Buddy of mine had his vacation house burglarized, a bottle of Pappy's was stolen. Insurance company wouldn't cover it. Not much else was taken...insurance is a funny thing. Know your coverages and deductibles...

If any of you hoarders drink nice wine as well and want to trade a bottle of pappy for a bottle of this , let me know

I hate bourbon , but I would give it as a present to a friend,

Nice. I don't doubt you've stored it properly! My friend was given 1982 for her year of birth by her CEO (he was hosting her going-away party at his house) upon her leaving the company years ago, she only knew it was "a nice old bottle of wine" and forgot about it. About 3-4 years ago she showed it to us while we were talking about wine and it had been just sitting upright under the kitchen sink.

Yes properly stored
I have several cases of them, and I only drink them in special occasions ( " L " was born that year )

Never been a bourbon connoisseur unless it's mixed with coke, but a buddy brought over a bottle of Pappy 20 for New Years and I must say it was pretty good. I can't see spending $1k on a bottle of liquor, but to each his own.
