OEM Roof Ladder

Not sure what my chances are but looking for an oem roof ladder back section. Basket not needed. Has anybody ever used this without attaching the basket on top? Would like to put some pads on it and use it for lonboards / ski shuttel rack. I already have the front cross rails. Do you think it would be sturdy enough? Not really going to climb on it. Thx.

You really need to connect the two, otherwise the ladder vibrates badly and could damage your rear bodywork. Several people have had simple bars made to connect them. When I had to run without my basket for a while I just got some metal L-stock from a supplier and connected the front and back. It was temporary so it didnt have to look good.

Brent,

When I was down there the other day you mentioned that your girl friends day was in the fab business. He could make you a set really easy.

I am sure you could get some sort of Yakima or Thule gutter mount rack system instead. Then you would not need to drill any holes into the truck.

Derek at Urban Offroad does reproduction rear ladder sections (and entire backets set ups as well).

I am sure he could also provide you some supports that ran from the front cross bars to the rear ladder that could provide stability for hauling the items you refer to without requiring a basket being attached.

Go here:

http://urbanoffroad.us/

He did my entire set up, cross bars, basket and rear ladders.

He does good work. May be slow to respond to an e-mail, but does good work.

Yes, we make these part to exact factory specs., but currently we don't have time to do mail order versions (gotta get a bunch of customer Defenders done before we dive into new ventures). We hope to in the future, but do not have an ETA.

Urban Off Road is your best bet unless you can find a used original.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.
