Question non working A/C compressor?

we just removed the A/C out of our '97 S/W, and would like to sell it to someone who wants and needs it, but to make it an attractive deal, i need to sell the compressor with it. problem is, the compressor pulley needs to be present on the engine for the poly-belt to follow the correct path. i'm therefore looking for an A/C compressor with a pulley that spins well, but the compressor doesn't need to work. anyone?

Just source another shorter 7-rib polybelt. They are available from summit racing in various lengths, or for an even larger selection you can run a 6 rib belt with no problems just as well.

Also, late model Jeeps use a 7-rib belt as well if I recall.

One last edit, but I think you should be able to clock the belt tensioner to work in a non-AC configuration if necessary. I did this with my Discovery.

Since all the 97's come with an ac compressor, I would keep your compressor and just sell the kit. Anyone with a 97 will already have the compressor, and anyone with a 94/95 is going to need a different pulley at the very least, so I would let them source their own compressor.

Couldn't you just use the serp belt for a UK non-AC 4.0? Then you'd have no need for a compressor at all....
I seem to recall someone at one time posting up the Land Rover PN for the non-AC serp belt, but said you had to buy it from the UK....
