Newbie needs help - WTB NAS D-90

So I've been lurking for a while now and have had a long infatuation with Defenders. Over the past couple of years, I have gone through periods of just obsessing over them and trying to find the right one for sale. Well, the bug has bitten again and this time I can't ignore it. I have to buy one. In fact, my wife and I just returned from vacation in a small mountain town in Italy and I saw so many beautiful, old Defenders that it just rekindled my lust. I am f...ing smitten!

I am so impressed with the knowledge and cohesiveness of this D-90 community, that I feel it's necessary to ask for your help in locating a vehicle. I've scoured the bay and other online sites but just don't have enough knowledge to make an informed purchase. I am particularly impressed by the way this community is willing to share info, and call BS when it's out there.

I'm looking to purchase a Defender hopefully for around $25K. I'm located in South Florida but comfortable buying anywhere in the US, especially if this community has any knowledge of a particular vehicle. This won't be a daily driver, just a fun weekend vehicle to carry a bike or some paddleboards, and drive the kids in style to their games. I am interested in a clean, rust-free vehicle. Mileage and gadgets not important. It must be reliable and not need any major work as I am not mechanically inclined (I do own a screwdriver and hammer, but that's about it).

Please let me know if anyone knows of a good vehicle for sale in my price range. Feel free to pass on my info. as well. I'd love to hear from any members of this community with any suggestions. Please feel free to email, PM, or call (561-758-3468).

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers,
Brad Taylor

Check the Flea Market section in addition to the For Sale Vehicles section I believe you've already visited. There was a beluga black 90 posted by nathanwind yesterday under $25k and there are a ton of locals there who could put a set of eyes on it for you I'm sure.

No preference as long as the soft top is dry....lots of rain in S. Florida.

May prefer a hardtop with roof rack to carry paddleboards, etc. I don't know enough about the options with a soft top but it seems that a roof rack may be tricky with a soft top, is this correct?

I know of at least one d90 that has a full length custom Roof Rack.
Like all custom things it COST!
