You getting rid of your ST front cage George?

You know you can run the Hardtop POE style with the ST front cage. I am sure Dan can get you pics and measurements if you want to . . .

Ron,
tell me how to do that...the ST cage and the SW cage have different length "legs" that come out to "rest" on the top...the SW legs are much longer than the ST legs which are a part of the B roll cage...or am I mixed up? I have them side by side but they don't look at all interchangeable in terms of bolting to the hard top...no? I am going to keep the ST set up and see if I want to or am willing to swap this whole thing out every year...
what's Dan's user name? I'll drop him a PM...

Check your PM.

All you need to bolt on the Euro top to the ST front cage are the two little POE brackets that bolt to the roof. I am sure Dan can sen you a pic.

Ron

Edit actually: the fourth and fifth pics down show the piece you need. One on each side.

That project will also give you a good idea of how to mount the gas strut brackets. The ones from the fglass hard top will require some modification to mount there.

Thanks guys,
I guess all my confusion stems from the fact that the 1995 SW exterior cage I purchased (bent and unusable...what a waste of cash) has much shorter lateral arms than the POE cage...the two bolting plates with short tubes attached are apparently just what I need...just like the POE set up. I was going to use the SW exterior cage, but like I said, no joy. Anyone know where to source the needed plate/tube/attachment things?

"Anyone know where to source the needed plate/tube/attachment things?"

The million dollar question . . .

No I don't, but I would call Mike at LR west chester and start with him. He should be able to get you a part number. I think in the end you are going to have to make it. If you do, make a few sets and sell them off because I know more people would want them.

Ron

PS email me a pic of the bent SW cage, I am sure it can be fixed.

Ron,
I was afraid of that...fabrication! I'll give Mike a buzz and start there. I've consulted with a few body shops locally and they all shrugged their shoulders about straightening things out for me...how would one go about it? The guy rolled his D90 onto it's left side and this shoved everything toward the passneger side by about 2 or three inches...it's hard to see in a picture but it is clearly evident when I tried to fit the damn thing...
