Need a ESR2691 - SEPERATOR EVAS-VS for emisions

Hey guys,

Need help finding this part ESR2691 SEPERATOR EVAS-VS, it's an emissions control part that sits behind the rear passenger tire. It's a black box with three hoses coming out of the bottom and attaches to the fuel system. Without it my track is going to be banned from the road!!!

Please help, thanks.

yikes, checked the usual suspects in the UK, maybe the dealer? Option B would be get on the horn with rimmerbros or another big parts supplier in the UK and see if they have an alternative supplier

I need stupid money for it because without it, I need to make a different system work, but I a willing to let it go if you are willing to pay and assuming this is what you need.

Stephen,

I wonder if any of the local guys would let you "borrow" theirs just to pass muster at the smog nazi for the time being and then you could swap it back out and find a replacement at your leisure?

Did you pass the sniffer part but fail the evap portion where they pressure test the evap system?

Ya,

I'm good at the tail pipe, just replaced the cats. It fails the evap test... If I could grab that thing for even a day from someone it would be great. Does anyone know what it actual does? Perhaps it's something I could make/have made? It's obviously something that people need to keep their trucks legal, maybe it's worth having a few made.

On most vehicles it's an expansion tank with a couple of check valves. I'll have a look at the rave and see what i can figure out by looking at the diagrams. Any cracks or visible defects in it?

The bottom is basically gone... The truck is from Canada and 20 years of road salt has eaten it...

well, there's your problem. lol. I just looked it up in the rave and it is just that, an expansion tank for the fuel system. Three lines, all with check valves. One goes to the tank, one goes to the charcoal canister and the other goes to atmosphere.

If you cant find one to borrow you may be able to engineer something. Just needs to be a vessel that will hold pressure. A stiff walled rectangular thin but tall plastic container would do the trick. Find whatever size hose goes on there and get an appropriate plastic hose barb and then bond it into the plastic (drill a hole, tap it, and put in a threaded barb with some plastic cement on the threads) paint it black and bobs your uncle.. You could honestly do it with a piece of pipe with caps on the ends, just needs to hold pressure.. function>form

The only caveat would be if the smog place wanted to bust your balls due to it not being an OEM part, That's why i was saying use a thin rectangular container that could be sealed and then paint it black, it would look the part and not draw attention. Too bad it's not hidden behind a fender liner or something like most of that junk is on a lot of trucks.

Also, since your current one is toast you might want to do a post mortem on it and see what's going on internally. There may be a pressure valve or something in there between the main expansion section and the atmosphere/carbon can section.

I just pulled one off the NAS 90 body I have. Can't remember if I kept it or chucked it into the trash. If I can find it you can have it Let me look around tomorrow.

Hi Stephen,

I looked in the parts bin today and I'm afraid it went in the trash All I have diesels and we are building another tdi so I didn't think it was important to keep. Can you use one from a RR classic or Discovery 1? If so I should be able to get one. Let me know.

Cheers
Scott
