Get a 300 one. Way less stress. Find on ebay uk for around 100 complete.

A 300TDi intake and Disco 200TDi intake are the same except for a few minor details. I can say with recent experience that locating a Defender 200TDi intake is very difficult. If you're putting a 200TDi into your 109, I'd suggest a 300TDi exhaust/turbo setup. It's the route I was falling back on until I located a Defender inlet.

Contact Elton Wright at Blue Ridge Diesel in Salem, VA.
Elton has a Defender 200TDI in his 109 with turbo.
You didn't explain if you have a Disco 200TDI or a Defender version.
It sounds like you have a Disco 200TDI and picked up a Defender exhaust manifold that has the high turbo, but there is no way to tell from the sparse information you provided.

You may very well need a 200TDI defender inlet manifold, but Elton can advise you accordingly.
I am no expert, but think the 200TDI Defender Exhaust Manifold may even interfere with 200 Disco/300 TDI inlet manifold, but Elton should be able to advise.
Also Dave Bobeck is putting a Defender 200TDI into a 109.

Hopefully you are NOT making the mistake of leaving the turbo off.
That's like going stag to the senior prom.

Good Luck!

Yes, that's what I suggested. The only possible gotcha with this is the fact that the exhaust down tube comes very close to the LH motor mount. You may want to wrap the pipe or make a heat shield to minimize the possibility of cooking the rubber.

As stated, you retain the Disco 200 Tdi intake manifold.

OR you can buy my 200Tdi turbo that has been flipped 180 and re clocked so that it works in a 109. $100. Can send pix if you want.

The way I'm reading this he already has a 200tdi Defender turbo, presumably that's attached to a Defender exhaust manifold.

Yes he could sell that on, change course and go with 300tdi manifolds. Or he could pick up a Defender 200tdi intake manifold.

The only problem with that, as he's probably figured out already, is they are tough to find used. I would suggest eBay.uk they do show up there occasionally. When searching try "inlet" rather than "intake". Keep in mind many sellers there won't ship to the USA, so if you have someone you know in the UK who can receive and forward it that would be best.

If you lose patience (might take you a couple of months to find one there) the Defender 200tdi is available new but for $$$$. Get the part number and check Paddocks or Craddocks, one or the other has them.

Actually went back to the Disco intake and exhaust, converted to power steering at the same time and that allowed everything to fit including the power steering pump and distributor. So if anyone needs it I have a set of 200 TDI defender intake and exhaust manifolds with turbo as well as a 300 Tdi disco turbo. Cheap taking offers the intake is NOS
