NAS SD Roof Rack.

I need one. Preferably on the West Coast. Cosmetically, I don`t care what it looks like so long as it`s decently solid. $1500-ish?

PM me or email me, mela.n @ neu .edu

I took pics of UrbanOffroad.us' basket prior to cleanup and powder-coating for anyone who is interested. It is side-by-side with my original SD basket for comaprison. You'll notice the ends are not crimped, making what I believe is a stronger basket. This particular one was made for a 110 and the mount points were perfectly aligned with factory mount points. Give them a call if you are interested in one for yourself. Also, they now have a rear ladder that also mounts to factory mount points, so the holes you'll drill will be the same as if you were mounting an OEM ladder. As soon as I can get more pics, I'll post them on d-90.com

The prices are $1800 and includes crossbars. You can then order the mount brackets, plates and buy stainless steel M8 asnd M10 bolts. I ordered my mounts and mounting plates from http://www.roverconnection.com

Neil,

If you mean a D90 rear ladder, Yes. Pics of the first prototype should be available soon. I'll probably let him use my D90 to verify factory mount points. When we do, I'll post pics for your viewing pleasure

You'll see my contributions to the design (for those that request the optional extras). In summary, he can add limb risers, Hi-Lift mounts, jerry can holders, additional light tabs, you name it, he can add it.

He's ready to take orders, just drop a deposit of 1/2 and he'll get started.

Mike,

That's $1800 for the D90 basket, ladder, crossbars and roll cage mounts. I think that's a helluva price. I paid a little more than that, and that was scrounging used parts from boards and new from roverconnection.com.

Daniel,

He's going to have two sets of crossbars, one for ST and another for SW. The only difference is the SW roll cage is 1" taller, hence the need for a 1" spacer on STs.

He's a good guy, very honest. If you have problems, tell him I'll sequester his puppy until his customer is happy

so if i got the ST set with the added 1 inch given to the crossbars then it would still work when i did the SW in the winter, i would just have an extra inch higher when the SW rollcage bars were put on? doesn't sound so bad! i hope my Tax money comes in quick.

Daniel.

I'd suggest you get the ST crossbars and have a 1" spacer made out of aluminium. That way, it'll be correct height either way.

I called and talked to him too.
Here is what I found out.

He is making several for a production run, but has none available now.
From the time you order, it will take approx. 3 weeks.

The price is just under $1800.00 for a complete roof rack kit including rear ladder. It includes all mounting hardware and all bolts are stainless. It is identicle to the SD rack except the welds are boxed in instead of crimped, which makes it stronger.

Basket is available for $1,198.00 alone.

They will be made of 1/16th inch tubular steel and will mount just like the safety devices rack.

The entire kit weighs less than 100 lbs, and is $160.00 for shipping to a business location.

They will come with tabs for mounting lights in the rear of the basket, and for additional charges he will add things like a hi-lift carrier, spare tire carrier, limb riser tabs, etc...

He also said that he could shorten the height of the basket to whatever size I wanted for an additional $100.

I think I will order one soon.

the only difference i see in the SD and his is that the SD's edges bow out a bit when they round up to the top. very minor detail which doesn't bother me at all. the box welds i like!
