NAS D90 fuel tank

After removing my rusted fuel cradle and ordering a replacement I've discovered that my fuel tank has been damaged. It not only has some cracks in it but the exhaust has also partially melted one side.

Rovers North doesn't have any in stock and I haven't been able to find another one online. Anyone have a spare that's in good shape that they are willing to part with or know of where I can pick one up?

Thanks!

They're long gone no longer available. cgalpin from here had some good posts on using an epoxy of some sort (from what I recall) if you search around.

And I believe member found90 had his for sale a few years ago for a few hundred bucks, but I'm not sure it's in better condition than yours is.

I asked found90 about the tank a while after he had posted it, and he had already tossed it unfortunately

Isn't there a place in TX making metal pricey replacements?

Nothing for NAS as far as I've seen.

Barry, the tank had cracks in it (I'll try to take some photos when I get back to the shop) and was leaking fuel. It was also warped/melted on the side nearest the exhaust. Epoxy has been suggested to patch the cracks. The melted part hasn't resulted a loss in structural integrity but makes me wonder if there was supposed to be a better heat shield in place. I saw the below part on roverparts but I haven't seen anything like that on my truck.

Bill at Kensington Motor cars makes an full aluminum replacement tank. If I remember correctly, it's 3 gallons bigger than the factory one and has a built in slid plate. Saw one in Moab and it's really beautiful. It's a direct bolt in replacement. You need to call as they don't post them on the site. I think it was $1400. plus shipping which is very reasonable considering they get $700. for a used piece of plastic with bits typically broken off.

Here is the link http://www.kmcnv.com/

Did you find anything ?

I was thinking of changing my fuel tank when I do some work in the rear section and must drop the tank anyway.

Why change it? Take it to a shop to have it blasted, pressure tested and red koted! Cost around $150 bucks and it will be as good as new!

There is nothing wrong with my tank, except it's 20 years old... I was thinking of changing it while I was there.

Worst case, I'll at least get all the slime out of it and steam clean it inside and out..
