My 1st Defender

Ok guys. I'm looking for my first Defender. Nothing crazy just a rust-free dependable drive. Needs to be clean as possible. Not a project. I only have $10,000 to spend. If anyone knows anything that fits this bill please PM me. Thanks.

You can probably import a civvy 90 for around that price. But I don't know how clean it will be. I got my 110 for under 10k but I ended up putting a new engine in it. That was due to the seller not totally being honest even with video of it running, but it was mostly due to algae in the tank from sitting for months and then knackering the IP pump and more. Other than that the front doors are slightly toasty and the bulk is just okay. So a 110 for that price range in very clean condition is probably not too realistic from my research unless its ex-MOD where you can probably get one in country RORO for around 9K-ish, all said and done. But the engine is still kinda crap.

Some links for Ex-MOD here Land Rover Defender 110 2.5L NA Diesel (Hard Top) - 40080 - Ex Army UK Ex Military vehicles, Ex. Mod Sales and Nato plant and equipment for sale and export
Land Rover, Tithonus 110 Hard Top, #77238 - MOD Sales, Military Vehicles & Used Ex MOD Land Rovers for Sale

As everyone else says. Talk to Uncle Douglas Doug@dividingcreekimports.com

Appreciate your enthusiasm.
While your budget is low, using "dependable drive" and "my first Defender" in the same phrase is an oxymoron.
It's not too hard to spend 10K on getting one you already own dependable and reliable.
Welcome and best of luck.

You are probably looking at RHD and ex-MOD for that price. Even then, they will be hard to find already here, in my opinion, just because they probably won't have as much room for profit for the sellers as a nice Station Wagon, so not as many are brought over.

Here is one that was a steal as far as I'm concerned, and it sat around for quite a lot longer than I thought it would, but it's gone now it seems: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...a-53175-2.html

We can source you a nice truck within that budget. We just did a lovely 110 van to a chap in FL for $10,000 incl shipping.

Slightly over budget but still only $16k

Land Rover Defender-Galvanized chassis

Land Rover Defender-Galvanized chassis - $16000 (Queens)

Land Rover 90 with galvanized chassis and a few uninstalled new parts-New XS shocks and damper, New Springs, new XS model lights, New snorkel and new power steering pump and reservoir.

The 2.5 has only been driven in the driveway and I dont think its road worth

However this is a great starter truck for someone who wants to build and XS model 90

PS there is a LHD Puma bulkhead on Ebay UK right now

What do you mean source me one? I have seen a few decent ones for around that price, I'm not in a big hurry and have the cash. So, if you can help please guide me I'm all ears.
