Does that mount to the outer corner capping (by the tail lights) or closer in to the door hinges? For some reason I was thinking the mounts were out further...I may be wrong, I'll have to take a 2nd look at it.

Aaahhh just found this:
http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...01&postcount=7

Do you have to open the carrier "separately" from the door?

Are we talking the same thing? It attaches to the door and swings with it when you open it.

nope the TF does nor attach to the door, it attaches to the body ( capping and cross member and has a lever ( like on a Hummer ) so you release the carrier first then the door.

On mine I installed a rubber bump stop between the door plate and the back of the carrier so I push the lever up and then swing both together

The Mantec also attaches to the body (bottom on the chassis mount, top you drill out the rivets in the capping), BUT you don't need to separately "unlatch" the swing away carrier from the door latch - you just open the door as normal and it swings open.

That's pretty much why I wanted the Mantec over other styles...I'm glad you clarified. Yes, I'm that lazy that I need to skip a step .

PS - Goose, you ever been to the PG Skeet & Trap Club? Was there this morning with 'jefferson' from D90...great stuff!

Jason,

while I agree with lazy part, when I decided to install mine on the 110, I could have got either, but the TF has less moving parts to get rusted, fail, etc.

Again it is your choice, and yes the mounting points in frame and body are the same TF or Mantec

I'll probably hold off until I have a chance to take a closer look at your TF...

DAP sells one, very reasonably priced, that looks almost identicle to the mantec. I think it is a bearmach, but, there was no markings on the box or carrier. The lines (design), backing plates for the rear door and all else look really identical to the eye. I've had mine two years and love it... no problems, rusting rattling, etc. I can't remember the price, but I think it was under $300. Also, despite the negative feedback on some Bearmach products in general, this item is really heavily built and the precision of the construction is very good.

Hmmm, yes I do see that one (http://www.dap-inc.com/acc/app/df/df...-int-ext.shtml) - looks like $325 at the moment. Definitely something to consider, looks almost identical to the Mantec.

Bump...definitely set on the Mantec. Anyone have a lightly used one they want to part with before I order one?

Not to hijack the OP'S thread but I would like one of these as well...so if the OP passes I might be interested in taking his rejects.. and I'm not lazy..I can unlatch a lever first if the price is right..LOL...

Shayne, call Justin @ www.lucky8llc.com

I am sure the TF will be the right price, heck even his Mantec prices are low compared to other Vendors
