I think that's the "courtesy computer" from the 97, the one behind the center dash switches.

Would someone mind giving me a brief explanation of what this part does? I took apart half of my dash tonight to fix a broken piece and ran into this part as well. More importantly, in box on the dash with this part are about a dozen wires grouped into a couple of connectors that don't connect into anything. Is this normal? Either connectors to functions that wouldn't be on a 97ST or ROW truck. I just had a car audio place remove an alarm system that the last owner had installed. Could these wires be remnants from that?

The switch runs things like the rear wiper delay on the station wagons, so there are bound to be a couple functions unused on your soft top.

I believe it also runs the interior light delay on both ST & SW.

Thanks much. Is the gray housing for that a difficult part to find? Does anyone know the part number? Mine is shot and all of the replacements that I see have a hole cut out for a radio housing? I'd like to keep it the way that it came.
