Looking for D110 auto

Hey guys, this is my first post on the wanted side of the house, but I'm looking for a 4-door D110, hopefully 300tdi, and preferably an automatic. Color doesn't matter. I'm in the market for a new defender. Mine was totalled, as you can see from the picture. Any leads would be awesome. Looking to spend no more than 30k for it. I know that might seem impossible, but hey, a guy can wish right? Thanks!

That could be possible if you are willing to accept a 1983 RHD... 1993s 4door, v8, 5spd 110s are still fetching 40k+ generally..

Why not have what is left of your 90 built into a 110?

...oh, and a 300Tdi works fairly hard pulling a 110SW around. If you make it try to do so in front of an auto box it will work much harder and really isn't that much fun to drive.

ok

So, if I shouldn't want a 300tdi engine, if it works "harder" with the D110, then what engine should I be looking for? Thanks guys.

I think Matt is simply pointing out that a 300tdi with an autobox in 110 is going to be slow as all hell. 300tdi disco autos are already damn slow, and Rover never offered a 110 with a 300tdi/auto.

Not that there is anything wrong with what you are wanting, but I think you're just going to be better off having someone like Matt put it together for you. That way, you can get a 2.8 or a 6cyl BMW diesel or something else that goes nicely with an autobox and you know will suit you.

There can't be more than a tiny handful of NAS 110's that have been converted to 300tdi + auto anyway, so even if that is what you definitely want, you might be waiting a long time. I only know of one, and I think it recently changed hands.

But inquiring minds do want more detailed pix of the carnage shown in your avatar...

WILCO guys, I can't upload the pictures quite yet, because I am currently in Kuwait awaiting my flight or convoy to Iraq. Will have the pictures from the wreck on here within the week. Thanks guys for the suggestions and advice. Still looking for some possible leads on the truck to buy. If anybody knows of any out there, please lemme know. Thanks.
