I just rebuilt a RHD into a LHD. My metal bending skills are not the best but it worked and you can not tell it is anything other than factory after the install. I added a GM blower motor for that added whoosh.

This is what I am going to do. I have a page from ExPo bookmarked with someone that did it. I did have to buy a LHD blower cage tho.

Mike Sandone @ American Overland in Ct did that write up. He's a member here and I have seen the heater he did. Unfortunately the lhd blower cage is now north of $300 from Rovers North. When he did his it was a sub $50 part per our conversation.
The write up on converting the heater is here on this forum.

Thanks Doug - that is the build I was thinking about. Between heater boxes and lower dash prices I have half a mind to start converting RHD pieces to work on LHD builds.

Doug,
You can buy a GM heater fan off the shelf for around $50.00. The cage is very very close and the motor is stronger than the factory LR one. You do have to modify the bolt holes and electrical connection however.

Mike, should have said lhd blower motor housing - the sheet metal part is the issue not the blower motor.
Actually just looked it up and its not that terribly expensive.

For some reason there are two (or more) part numbers for the same part. One of them is ridiculous: http://www.roversnorth.com/ProductDe...e=0&eq=&key=it

Yep thats the one I found previously that stopped me from proceeding. Some one has been eating a bit of Alice's mushroom on the pricing on that one.

The rhd blower motor has the vanes in the motor running the wrong direction when you try to move it over. It will blow some air but not much. I use "factory air part # 35333" I got it at the local auto parts store. Changing the housing over wasn't too bad but I did have to make another flange.
I also found some LHD assemblies with both the motor and the housing in the UK for about 120 pounds. Don't know if they had any in stock however.
