Land Rover Dormobile

Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for a restoration project. Very cool Dormy though.

Good luck. I am like a hawk and have not seen a cheap one since the TWO I bought in 2001. They were both pretty rough, but I still had to shell out some coin for them. One was a later one of about 1965 vintage which someone swapped the dormobile roof for a carawagon roof (still had all the dormobile fittings and seats on the interior) and I sold that on to Cirbus for $2500 I think. Not sure what he did with it. At the very least the interior bits, seats and roof should have lived on. And the other, a 1964 with the cooler early stove, I still have and have been slowly rebuilding by purchasing 110 parts for it.

Hey Ron, thanks for the reply and for the help on the thread, (Replacement of a Land Rover D90 rear left panel). I've been on the hunt for a dormobile for a long time now. Earlier this year I was in a bad guiding accident and I have the winter to recover. This gives me the time to hunt and hopefully find a project, that I've always wanted to work on. I love restoring rovers and the camaraderie that goes with it. If you stumble upon anything, please let me know.

What I would do if I were you is to find a 109 SW to restore (or an early 110) and then keep your eyes out for a dormobile to use as a donor for the dormobile bits.

Funny you should ask, I finally (after like six months of hounding) got Dormobile in the UK to agree to send me the parts I need to restore my top and then I can put it back on the truck.

Doormobile

Might have a lead. There is one sitting about 500 ft. from me right now. The owner of the vehicle is on a LR expedition out of the country @ the moment. I can give you details here shortly. I am very close to you as well. This one might be a '72. Definately needs a resto. But could be cool. Will be in touch.

Checked in with Peter last year and he was sitting on a number I wasn't looking to spend. Thanks for the heads up John!
