I have the throttle. All you would need is a cable. It is the cool quandret style. The plastic is faded and scratched, but some sanding and a coat of black plastic paint would sort it out. Pic in a few. It has surface rust but works fine and could be cleaned up easily.

Those suck compared to the quadrent style. They are just a choke cable from what I can tell.

edit: here is the correct part number for 10 quid.

Ron

PS as I have saved you $100, should you decide to purchase one, I think it would be nice if you ordered two and gave one to me for cost and covered the shipping from the UK.

efornier tried one of those choke cables as a hand throttle and felt them unsuitable for the task.

I have one on my 2.25 gas. works fine. not sure how one would set it up on another motor but I'm sure it cannot be all that difficult.

both...provides enrichment when pulled beyond a certain point and just fast idle if not pulled out so far. according to the manual anyway. I don't think it would be difficult to set it up to just work the throttle though. mind you it is completely devoid of the coolness factor of the quadrant type.

The one pictured above is a choke cable. The genuine Defender hand throttle cable is different. I know as I have one.....

Personally I would suggest a "vernier control cable". Around $40 from any decent industrial supply place. Just Google it, they are quite common and the nicest, IMO for the task.

Follow-up Post:

Genuine one = NRC8503
http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product...nrc8503&page=1

plus NRC8734
http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product...nrc8734&page=1

plus MTC3611
http://roversnorth.com/store/p-11168...der-90110.aspx

Plus some grommets, etc..... all free if you know the right people....

My donor 110 came with a cruise control unit so it already has a second cable. NAS trucks have the provision for the second cable on the throttle already (same part as on a disco/RRC so the cruise would use the other cable) so I am not sure how that bracket would work.

Now, if you want to be really cheeky about it (I have to check to see if it is like this on my 1995 too) but on GEMs trucks there is a plastic adjuster to take the slack out of the throttle cable and you can just tighten it up and you have whatever rpm you want within reason.
