Garrett T25 Turbo for 200tdi

Well I figured I would post up and see if anyone has a turbo they don't want/need...as I am trolling eBay UK for one - thought I would post up here too and see if anyone has one.

Mine has a little slop in the shaft and is leaking a little oil - just figure I should get in front of it.

I have a defender 200tdi turbo that has a teeny tiny bit more play than it should. It probably would work just fine but a resourceful, savvy, business-minded (read, cheap as fuck) bloke such as yourself should be able to scour up a bargain on a decent rebuild. FYI this is the compressor housing and spindle etc, does not include the exhaust housing.

In other words... (for your sun-baked, VB-soaked, vegemite-addled brain, and when you can take a minute away from watching re-runs of Crocodile Dundee and doing your Angus Young impersonation in front of the mirror) ...I have exactly what you need.

Anyone know if a Disco 200tdi turbo is a direct fit for a defender 200tdi?

on a RHD should be no problem, but I think the down-pipe might not set properly ( that is what I was told when shopping for a turbo across the pond )

Doug should know the proper answer

I swapped a disco turbo compressor and moving parts into the defender manifold. You have to re drill and tap the locating holes for the wastegate. And then rotate the compressor housing.

The unit I am offering is a defender unit so you could skip all that.

Your truck has the defender setup?

OK - thanks to Bobek for hooking me up...and Kang for the peer group pressure to rebuild...now I am going to go the rebuild route myself <eeeeek!>

For anyone else down the road, her are two sites with details, and video that make it seem doable for all of us. Big key is to put the wheels & nuts on in the same spot before. So marking the fans is key.

I approve of the footwear, but my man needs to invest in a table and a torque wrench!

Now that Jonesy found his turbocharger does anybody else have a rebuildable Defender 200Tdi turbo that they would like to sell? I want to rebuild one myself and have it as a spare.

I've got a discovery turbo that's already been rebuilt and could be modified as Ren suggested if you need it for a defender engine. I only put a few thousand miles on it after I had it rebuilt.
