You can make Defender flares work, but you must cut the metal to the Defender shape. They are not really very cheap either...

I don't think anybody makes flares specifically for a Series. They either use generic flexible flares or something from another truck.

I thought somewhere in the back of my mind that I was spelling Flare wrong!

I have the soft flexible flares on my 66 109, they just don't look that good, not bad but not good.

I know the front openings are way different then the series IIa but what about the rears? also can D-90s front wings bolt right on the S IIa?

I have never really looked at a D-90

Both openings are different. It is easy to reshape the aluminum though.

For the front wings the best bet is to get Defender outer skins (just the wheel opening part; available in Al or plastic) and replace the Series ones. Then install the Defender flares. The rears are a different shape opening too and will require either a Defender tub or opening up the wheel arch.

I think I have a set of series flares like that picture. They came off of an australian 109.

They are all paintable, with the correct 'bumper' type paint. However, I do have one new take off set of body colored ones from the factory( Bonnatti Gray).
