Factory sub box for rear door

I may be mistaken but I thought I have seen a LR genuine subwoofer box that mounted on the rear door of a defender (the one I saw was on a softop)
my radio needs some more kick......

Anyone know where one can be purchased, and do they even exist?
Thanks

They do exist... I have one on mine. They are pretty nice, and they add the extra punch you are looking for.

I have seen them on Ebay before and you could probably contact George at RDS, AB or RN.

a 10" sub will fit, that's what I had in mine. Beware, Bryan, I had one of those in my truck and it sounded great, but if you plan on running topless alot, when it gets wet, it shits the bed rather quickly. It's just MDF with a hard plastic cover on it. I'd either build a box or buy a bazooka bass tube and strap it to the roll cage behind the tuffy box.

Bryan,

There is a picture of the exact sub-woofer on the "Custom Mods" area of this web page - that page also has a part number. Check it out.

I have this one on mine.........It does make a big difference. I still find myself not listening to the stereo that much unless I am on slow back roads. It is just not worth it on the high-way.

Matter of fact, I have thought about removing mine and selling it. It takes a few inches of space out of the back cargo area. Make sure that this is not an issue for you. Recently I have helped my cousin move, and a friend move a long book case. I had to be careful shutting the rear door in both cases.......

For now I am sticking with it.......it does look nice........and it does work well when I do use it. I rarely have the D-90 so packed that I need those few inches of space......

how do you hook it up to the factory head unit? I know when I page thru the bass treble balance etc there is an option for a sub volume.
