Err2985

Now, I think this is the right part #... classified in my parts manual as 'pulley pump double groove'

ERR2985

I'm looking for the power steering pulley wheel for a 1995 D90 3.9 5spd.
Now, I know most of you know that the 95 had the 3.9 but... here's my dilemma...

I ordered the part twice from the same vendor and the sent me the wrong part... I think they keep sending me the 97 4.0 one because it's smooth and not 'grooved' like I need. My grooves are worn down on the pulley.

I contacted a few vendors including George at RDS, Rovercity, and a couple others and no one has it ... and to prevent myself from having to call Rover$North I thought someone might have a new one or direct me where to go...

Thanks!

Post a picture of what you're getting...The pulley you need should have 1 v groove (inner) for the power steering belt and a smooth flat outer surface for the multi-rib alternator belt. The outer pulleys were all smooth when new and over time the alternator belt will polish some small grooves into it. The 97 used a single serpentine belt to drive all accessories and is a vastly different pulley than the 1994/1995.

the power steering pump has a v grove pulley and a smooth pulley in front of the v grove.the smooth pulley is kinda of a spacer for the alternator belt.i dont think a belt is going to wear down that pully with as little of friction as that thing gets.

You know I never thought of the belt actually wearing down the pulley...

Could be... eh...

Here's a couple pics...

Should I just replace anyways... ?

Thanks

You can replace it if it makes you feel better...but I wouldn't bother...most of them look that way.

Mine looks like that @118K. I didn't know it was originally smooth either.
