electric fan setup for 300tdi

I have a 1984 row d-90 with a 200tdi motor and a 300tdi radiator and intercooler. Looking for a electric fan setup for the fan and intercooler that will fit the 300tdi radiator and intercooler. I have to work around the intercooler hoses and the other obstacles on a 300tdi radiator / intercooler setup.

I fitted a 15" virgo 12v fan to a disco 200tdi shroud, not sure if the 300tdi shroud is the same, but anyways I used some battery box rubber mounts that have the bolts molded in the rubber between the outer ring of the fixed mounting of the fan and the shroud.

I think you could get a 16" unit to fit but it will be a trial and error fit. most fan manufactures have the measurements online.

I intend fitting the sensor to a drilling in the water pump, but you could fit this to the top of the therostat housing, also running a on/off/auto switch in the cab.

Hope this helps

*note to self* I have to get another 200tdi shroud to replace the one I stole for the disco conversation

200 tdi fan shroud

John-
That's an excellent idea. I don't know why I didn't think of it. I think I can do the same thing with my 300 tdi shroud. By the way John, I have a 200tdi defender shroud (2 piece). If you want it, I can let you have it for what I paid. It was $100 plus shipping. Its already back in the box as it didn't fit my application.

John-
Sorry in advance for the elementary question... But, is the fan a push fan or a pull fan. In other words, does it push air into the radiator or does it pull air through it from the outside?
Thanks

This will depend. If the fan goes on the front of the rad it's a pusher and a puller if it's mounted in the back.

The later one is what you are looking for.

I've used Flex-a-Lite on my last 2 rigs and IMO they are great.

FAL has a vast selection of types and models for each unique application.

Check them out.

I used a twin fan that I got for free from a local body shop because its shroud was cracked & the Toyota was an insurance claim. Those types of fans are usually just laying around in body shops, or out back to be thrown away. It's a puller, mounted on the back of the radiator. Then get the nice two-stage x-fan thermostat from x-engineering. The only problem is when you add AC.
