Double cab diesel

My sole purpose of joining this forum is to find a double cab truck. I have wanted a defender for years. I'm shopping for a 4 door truck and for shits and grins I priced a tacoma. I currently have a 2010 access cab, but anyway a new 4 door in 4x4 is 34k. I refuse to pay 34k and compromise on anything I want in a truck. So here I am. I would say my max budget is 40k for the right truck. I'm not looking for a show truck. Just a solid, clean, reliable truck. It will be a daily driver even though I got a 5 mile commute. Thanks and aloha
This is exactly what I'm after!!

Doesn't Defenders Northwest have something as described? Give them a call...believe it's a green Tdi 130.

Then I'd stick with a toyota... defenders, especially the coveted 130s, aren't going to satisfy your needs at that budget.

That is a 130 double cab high capacity pickup. They typically go for quite a bit more in good condition but I wish you luck with your search. I have a couple and love them.

Doug, would it be logical to take a D110 double cab and buy a bed and a frame to build a 130? I mean besides longer proprshafts and some wiring they are effectively the same, correct?

Sure. You would need a pickup truck rear bulkhead, 130 b pillars aka t posts as they are quite a bit longer, a 130 rear seat box and floor, chassis and associated mounts which are quite different, bed and tailgate, 130 chassis wiring harness, rear double spring set ups etc. Problem with that plan would be finding a 110 double cab for short enough money to bring the whole project in @ 40k.

Real men have 130 inches

No, you could have a double cab 110 with a pretty useless bed.

A 110 will suit me just fine. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the Wealth of knowledge. I saw the orange one on Craigslist, but not a fan of the color. I'll take damn near any color.
