there are two different levers, the ones on the RDS site are for the later setups where the cable goes directly into the backing plate of the handbrake. There is another version for the ones where the cable goes into a bracket on the side of the transfer box. Then there are different versions for LHD and RHD. I have a spare RHD later style (like the RDs version but I suspect his are LHD) handle if anyone needs that.

This is the brake lever I got from George and this is my brake line, any thoughts on this? The thimble on the lever is too small for the end of the line, I am thinking just cut the thimble off.

That lever is intended for the later cable that has a rubber end that fits into that thimble. Other end of the cable goes directly into the drum.

I seem to recall my original early 90 handbrake cable had a threaded end that want into a bracket mounted behind the seatbox. The handle itself itself did not attach in any way to the cable housing, only the inner cable.

which handbrake do you have? bracket on the transfer box or cable directly into the drum?

part number for the cable in your photo?
