cheaper but not super ugly rain-gutter crossbars

I'm looking for an inexpensive way to carry things on the top of my (UK) 90. Not a NAS so no rollbar, short of autozone branded contractor cross-bars, does anybody have any suggestions?

Seems like the easiest thing to do would be to figure out what thule or yakima setup would work and go with that. Plus craigslist always seems to be full of used thule and yakima stuff.

High rise thule or yakima fit fine and look ok.

Cool, I'll look into a set like a Thule 387 or something.
Thanks for the tips.

I built a set for about $40 and 2 hours fabrication time. I needed them when I sold my pickup and needed to buy plywood. They work great and take 5 minutes to put on and take off.

Most of their stuff will connect to any similar sized cross bars. My Thule bike carriers, ski box, etc all work on similar bars that aren't Thule.
