Advice wanted: Defender 110 for sale in Charlotte, NC

I'm new to the forum and not sure this is where to post this question. But here it goes... I'm looking for my first Defender 110 to buy and ran across one for sale (pic attached) at Metrolina Auto Group in Charlotte, NC. I've seen a few of you guys live near there, so I thought I'd check to see if any of you have inspected this truck in-person. I'm in Dallas, TX and don't want to make a trip out there if the truck has issues someone on this forum has already identified. It looks like a clean RHD 110, but Metrolina is a bit light on restoration details and mechanical pics. Any insight is much appreciated!

None of the pics show the stuff that matters. That ad is all sizzle, but no steak.

The mis-matched doors are classy.

Shopping for a defender

I hear ya on the search its a good idea to ask questions about the mechanics on any restored rig. From what I see there is no good shots of the floor or under the doors; those are areas you will want to look out for. I know the seat box (underneath the front seats) can get pretty bad as well. You should check those in person if possible or request photos or you might be in for a nasty surprise down the road.

I'm in the same boat shopping for my first defender but I have bought a few used cars over the years and the one thing I have learned the hard way is there is no dumb questions so tips you can pick up are worth it.

Good luck with your search

I kinda like the door scenario, but $60K for a RHD & no mega-upgrades other than paint!? For that money, you'd be much better off buying a LHD from Johan & having a guru do as much for it as the leftover $30-$35k will allow...

It has power windows and Will owned it. That's worth $30k right there.

Personally, I'd rather have a NAS110 at $60k.

If I'm not mistaken it is sitting on a galvanized chassis. It includes a nice Hilift jack mount.

If so I can't really tell from the pics.

Also, why would you goto the trouble of a Galvanized chassis and not switch it to LHD while it was apart?

well if you want bling it looks like this is for you, most on this board are non bling owners. I suggest driving a RHD manual in traffic before you end up buying something like this.
