Keep in mind there are different cables for different V8 setups and RHD/LHD. You need to be specific about the details.

LHD truck with a carbureted 3.9 and a ZF I was already figuring I was going to be fabbing the cable mounts on the carb end

the LR part number is NRC5494 same part # left or right hand drive

Do you want the pedal only or the entire thing including mounting bracket stop, return spring etc
Just be sure to get it right!

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.
