The factory lock parts are still available and fit those consoles.

I looked at RN and RDS months ago but put it on the back burner. I did not even think to go to LR for the parts(thanks Mike). It was a lazy search at best.

The console is good but I have to say the lid sucks. It just seems flimsy and I wont let my kids jumps around in the truck because I fear it would break if stepped on. That said I am assuming it is an Ashcroft reproduction(previos owner had it done) because it is not a factory console and i dont thing anyone else makes them.

Mike, I ordered a latch today. I'll let you know how the install goes when it comes in.

Picked up the latch today, looks easy enough to install. Just need to make a couple of holes and figure out how to keep it in place.

Just a thought, But maybe if you filled the void in the lid with somithing like spray in foam (Great Stuff?) that might shore up the brittle lid.

I was planning on using some foam in the lid, not the spray in type, but some high density foam cut to fit. I hope it gives it a more solid feel and sound.

Anyone have a prefered method of drilling Fiberglass so it doesn't chip?

Drill through masking tape on both sides. Works with paint too.

I was able to get the latch installed in the lid with no problems. It does not latch to the bottom though. I made a slot in the bottom, but the material is to thick for the latch to work properly. It appears that some sort of metal piece is required for it to latch onto properly.

Anyone have a picture of a stock latch setup?

You are missing the thin metal catch bit on the bottom most likely.

Yep, that metal catch is what is missing. Thanks for the pics, I will fab one out of some scrap metal now that I know what it should look like.

Now that I have the lock figured out, can anyone tell me how the console is supposed to mount in the truck? I understand it is supposed to bolt down somehow, but it is not clear to me how.

There is this bracket that comes with the console, but I am not sure where it goes.
