95 RRC windshield

Could use suggestions as to where I can find a front windshield for 95 classic. Tough to source in these parts.

Thanks in advance

PM member huibae. He bought a factory OE heated front glass for my '95 RRC prior to my purchasing it. Paid through the nose from what I understand.

Safelite just installed a heated windshield in my 1990 RRC for $398 installed at my location. Less if i went to their shop.

You can get a quote on their website safelite.com I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was.

Just ran a quote if you brought it in to Billings location. Matt I'm curious how much is "paying through the nose"

Your service estimate*:

$264.95
*Estimate does not include tax, disposal fee or additional service options.
Includes national lifetime warranty

How can you do better than that installed?

I purchased mine from atlantic british about a year ago, including shipping it came out to roughly $1,100.00
plus $60.00 install by a local mobile glass shop.
fyi the trim around the windshield is almost impossible to find, specially the lower which is unique to the 95 classic and NLA for a few yrs in the states, you could try sourcing the trim from uk websites/suppliers like bearmach, lr direct the paddock, john craddock etc.
good luck

If I recall I think Harold paid $1,500. I would go the cheapest route possible. It's glass and could crack again.

I got a similar quote last year (~$300) out of Seattle, but was skeptical. Guess I'll give it a shot. Great price and an even more incredible shipper! What a stand up operator. I'd love their contact info as I might have need here in the immediate future.

The 1995 windshield is different than the 1987-1994 windshield and not interchangeable. The earlier windshields are easy to pull and reinstall. Not so with the 1995 glass.

95 windshields are unique. People will tell you otherwise but in my research, no one would install a 87-94 windshield on a 95.

I'm certain they are different sizes. Why did they make a different windshield for one year.....no clue.

AB has the windshield for $900. You'd have to have your local people install but then you have to find the fittings which are NLA. I think I may have gottten one of the last known rubber trims.

Good luck - it was a mess for me. FYI safelite will tell you they have the ability to install the bob-95 shield but they'll send you to 15 places and ultimately they won't install it because their shield doesn't fit the 95. It's been out of their system for years.

I have two '95's with good heated windshields sitting in my yard right now. If someone has some good insight into how to effectively remove the trim without damaging it, I'd love to hear from them. I've never had any success with the windshields on these '95's and I always hate sending the shells to the scrapyard with good glass.

This BLOWS!! I was excited about the $400 satelite idea since my 95' has a crack from top to bottom and needs immediate replacing. But now that Land Rover continues to remind me just how F**king stupid they are by making one year windshield different than all the rest and to boot not make the rubber to install new glass, I suppose I'll list my classic for sale later today.....LOL (just kidding)

If you get a gasket from an earlier year, then you can install the $350 heated safelite glass. I doubt anyone will care that you don't have the blacked-out surround.

I would imagine the bonded glass was a requirement for meeting DOT regulations just like the airbags. Keep in mind that the means for retaining the windshield on all RRC's prior to 1995 dated back to the 1960's. As far as Rover keeping a supply of parts for a vehicle that probably had production numbers, worldwide, of under 20k, remember they are on their fourth owner since the 1995 was designed. Each owner from BAE to Tata all had their distinct priorities for the brand.

94 RRC. Wasn't that the only soft dash year for the RRC?
Do the PN for the D1, also an AIrbag dash, match the RRC? In the back of my mind the molding around the windshield was NLA. That hopefully has changed.

Well the value of mine just went up being it has the last rubber gasket made.
In all seriousness there has to be some other gasket available.
