Buy a 4.0 and swap all the internal 4.6 stuff into it.. 4.6 motors without the knocking noise are getting hard to find..

Any disadvantages or loss of power doing this?

Nope, same block as long as its a 4.0 bosch one. CKPS mount is different between GEMS and Bosch. Just swap crank, rods and pistons from the 4.6 to the 4.0 block and you're golden..

I have a 4.6 with warranty for two more years I think, need to confirm, but a bit more pricey than others without warranty...
