89 wouldn't be 300 tdi. Water pump on ea engine is in a different spot . You need a 300 shroud. I have a defender one you can borrow to see if it's the same. Probably won't need it till mid summer.

I have one from a defender. Should work fine as engine and rad frame are the same. $30 plus shipping. New ones are $100 @ RN. Will send a photo tonight.

I'll take it-

That was my next question-size?
I'm still thinking about an electric fan setup but I've got the mechanical right here ready to go.

edited- yes what Doug and Bill said above- I need the shroud with rad and the intercooler on the left side.

I have fitted a big Zirgo fan into a 200tdi D1 shroud with a relay sensor fitted to the thermostat housing, nice and clean looking

Used three or four of RRC ABS pump rubber mounts to put it together, still has an inch gap around it, but that was the biggest fan I could find at the time.

The shrouds are different between the D1 and Defender. You do not want to use the defender version in a RRC or disco conversion.

Makes sense, thanks Jim. I think what I had was actually from a Disco 200tdi. I think he'll have problems due to the location of the lower rad hose. If it doesn't work I can take it back or he can sell it forward.
