300 Tdi cylinder head

Need a good cylinder head for a 300 Tdi. Hardware (rockers arms, valves, etc) not needed, just the bare aluminum head.

Are the wraped heads beyond the abilities of a good machinist?

Any warped (beyond spec) 300 head is beyond the abilities of a good machinist IMO. The heads are heat treated and when they overheat (generally the cause of the warpage) the heat treating can be lost leading to soft spots that will not hold bolt tension leading to further head gasket failure.
You will find plenty of info on this and plenty of people who have done it ("skimmed" the head) with no worries . I have found this to be an issue several times the hard way, and am no longer recommending this action. Many people are willing to get on the web and say they did it and it's not a worry but few are willing to get back on 50k miles later and say it didn't actually work.
You can have the head resurfaced and re heat treated and tested for soft spots (also need to recess the valves by the same amount as the head has been machined) but not for what you can buy a new head for.

I have one that has some marks in it from a broken valve... I will take a pic for you if interested.. Machine shop said they can fix it. The rest of the head is like new and has all valve and springs in it

Sure.. I have not been too active here lately.. Over the past 6 months I did a big addition on my house then after that a new baby arrived on feb 28.. I miss this place. Lol

Oh and I did the unthinkable. Worked on a jxxp TJ for a friend and installed a lift and a some other goodies. I can tell u they are built with tooth pics compared to rovers..
