255/85/16 set of tires

as it says looking for a decent set... not sure about the size yet so dont want to commit to buying new ones. Need to be able to have a shop mount these so cant be too old, bald or cracked.

Just bought a set (5) of Toyo Open Country M/T's 255/85-16, for $193 each *including* shipping to my door in VA from CA. Pretty screaming good deal if you ask me...

I just got Maxxis bighorns in that size for like $160 shipped each.

Why can't tires be like sneakers? try em on walking around the store a few times and see if you like them!

Great on the street actually. They feel really solid and sure footed. Not too loud but certainly a mud tire hum to them.

Seem to be wearing very well.

When putting them on (I have my own touch less machine and computer balancer) I noticed the sidewalls were very rugged and the tread area seems very stable. They also used very little to balance, less than 2oz on any wheel if I recall.

Any idea on the real world dimensions when mounted? I thought I read someplace those Maxxis run a little bigger.

I run Maxxis on my mtn bikes - and I am really picky about my mtn bike tires.

They run big for sure.

Mine measure about 34" tall mounted up. They very certainly run bigger than most.
