2.8's are common place in central/south america. you can get parts for them in auto stores down there. you can try Brazil ebay, but it'll be in portugese, so you'll have to translate it. use key words for ford ranger, as well as the MWM part no.

I'd be shocked if you needed a new pump. If anything, your current pump just needs to be retuned. Bosch VE pumps can pump WAY more fuel than they are set up for. If you tell a injection shop what your turbo and injector setup is, they should be able to tune it for you. There is a thread about tuning 200tdi pumps somewhere, 300's would be exactly the same.

I'll share a little more information.

I have a 300 Tdi the I am putting a larger turbo on. The injection pump on the engine needs to be rebuilt (shop says about $850.00). It was suggested that since I am putting the larger turbo on and I basically need a new pump I may as well try to find a pump off a 2.8. If I can I'll use it if not I'll rebuild mine.

Thanks for the help.

I don't even know what the difference would be between the two, but it can't be much. there's a few guys including Keith Kreutzer on here that put 2.8 turbos on their 300's with no issues, retaining the 300 TDI IP. I would stick with that pump as it can be worked on per the LR manual, versus something completely different that has no documentation for a shop to follow.
