2.5 TD Defender engine

Hi all, I have a blown up 2.5 TD engine which I need to replace, anybody have a good one? or parts or suggestions would be most helpful!!

If you are right hand drive, a discovery 200tdi is dirt cheap and a relatively easy swap.

Its in a 109 IIA but the engine and transmission came out of a 110

I have a 2.5l NA diesel that I'm about to pull. Only a 15 hp difference and way more reliable.

I'd go with a good NA unit until you have the money and can drop in a 200-300tdi

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.
