By means you first. My mats had a 2.5 with some serous blow by in the oil. Just easier to swap engines vs rebuild

Just guessing that used 2.5d's have a higher probability of being in good working condition than used 19j's

Yes - but a running weed-eater motor is still better than a dead VW engine (AKA anchor)

We did one downgrade for a customer last year with the knowledge that he wanted to have the truck drivable for the least amount of investment while setting aside funds for a 300 conversion this year.
