2.25 / 2.5 gas engine for 110

Have a 1985 110 with a factory fitted 2.25. The block is cracked so non repairable. I have just put in a recon LT77 and transfer case so my options are limited, does anyone have a 2.25 or 2.5 gas engine around. Have looked a 200TDI conversion but the lack of heads and timing covers and general age of the engine puts me off.

My 200 is great, I switched from a 2.5 petrol and saw a world of difference. I don't know about heads and timing covers, but all the other parts are pretty readily available.

And isn't a 200tdi going to be newer than a 2.5 petrol?

I agree with Tom. Tdi will completely transform your truck.

There is a guy is Santa Rosa blowing out all of his rover series parts - 707 546 2150. He may have what you need.

Don't put a series engine in it. The 3 bearing is a lesser unit. I would spend the extra dosh for a Tdi.

There is a guy in Conneticut who has a bunch of 200TDI stuff. www.roverresource.com . Nice guy. I also know he has a container leaving the UK soon.
