1993 RRC heated windshield hook up

Hi all, I have a 1993 RRC that has a heated windshield installed but not hooked up. I'm wondering if I need some sort of power regulator for the glass before I can hook it up to power, and if so, where can I find one? If anyone has what I need, please let me know! Thanks!

93 RR's came standard with heated windshields.
It's the button on the bottom right of the 6-button cluster to the left of the radio.

Check that the leads are actually plugged into the windshield on the left and right about 6 inches up from the bottom.

Fuses.

Right. So i don't know if that applies since Doug switched out the harness for a custom made job. I'll check by that switch and see what I find! Thanks!

OOps---yeah...you might have to check with Doug and see what he left with the heated windshield.
Your Classic is a bit different....than all the rest!

I havent looked at the wiring diagram in a loooong time but I think it's a switch, a relay, a fuse, and some 12v+ juice!

Still working on it.
I'm not the best with wiring so I'm having a harness made and will add in the factory switch and plug. Not a cheap option but it will be clean & safe.

harness the power

I have a few uncut harnesses.... Kevin, let me know if they have any more of that 8 Bells rum.

The harnesses were removed from '92 - '94's. It is quite the ZEN exercise in patience to completely remove these without cutting any plugs, grounds, fuse, or relay sockets.

Now you come around! Where were you last year?

I think I'm too deep into the custom harness to back out now. I'll be in touch if I can.... would have paid at least two bottles of 8 Bells.

Finally got my harness. I need to do some minor modifications since it was designed for a Defender.

One thing I can not figure out is where to wire the light into. Would I use the same two wires that feed the switch?

It also does not have the wire that is supposed to go to the oil pressure sensor. I do not think that's of much concern. IIRC it's just so you do not run it with the engine off.
