1990 Isuzu Trooper "Betsy" needs new motor

I had been toying with the idea of fixing up my old trooper Betsy. She ran great up until last year but now the motor is not doing so well. For whatever reason is so out of time it barely starts then backfires to hell. Ive tried everything. New belt, new distributor, etc etc etc. Nothing works

Anyway, she was on the way to the junk yard and just I couldnt do it, weve been thru too much. Was my first work vehicle 10 years ago when I started my company and Ive been all over the country in it and have done MUCH work to it.

With all that said Id like a new motor for it. Maybe a diesel or just a replacement 4 cyl ISUZU. NO 2.8 liter GM V6's.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on where I can get a motor or ideas on any other easy motor replacements let me know.

I have attached a picture of her for your viewing enjoyment!

Amazing how sentimental value makes an otherwise worthless vehicle priceless.
